New enzymatic reaction for the synthesis of a carbon-nitrogen bond

The 6th ENGII Conference——Pseudomonas chlororaphis B23 strain is able to grow on the medium containing nitrile (R-CN) as the sole carbon and nitrogen sources. We clarified the nitrile hydratase (NHase) gene cluster, which consists of seven genes (i.e. oxdA, amiA, nhpA, nhpB, nhpC, nhpS and acsA); e,g, OxdA is aldoxime dehydratase; AmiA is amidase; NhpA is NHase alpha-subunit; NhpB is NHase beta-subunit; AcsA is acyl-CoA synthetase)[1-3]. We also clarified the regulation mechanism of their gene expression.
