Modeling climate-change effects on coastal dunes
The Eighth International Conference on Aeolian Research(ICAR VIII)——Inclusion of wave processes produces a beach with relatively little change and foredune with alternating erosion and accretion.Adapted model reproduces observed dune behaviour on scale of years.Climate-scenario runs show differences between "no change" and "climate change",mainly in growth rate and final dunefoot position.Time at which landward retreat starts differs between sites.
