       The Eighth International Conference on Aeolian Research(ICAR VIII)——Between 1895-1945,Sydney and Melbourne received far-travelled dust as a haze,storm or red rain on at least 16 and 14 occasions,respectively.During the same period,the Western Division and Malee regions acted as prominent dust sources,with repeated severe dust storms and "blackouts".Combination of aridity and landuse changes responsible.
